Mission:
The purpose of the Saluki Research Rookies Program (SRRP) is to engage highly motivated freshman in faculty-mentored, hands-on research activities. Students explore their intended majors, develop relationships with faculty in their field, and gain valuable research and critical thinking skills.
Ultimately the program goal is to improve the retention of promising, high achieving first-year students, particularly first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented minority students, by providing the academic and psycho-social support necessary to facilitate a seamless transition from high school to the sophomore year of college.
Program Funders:
This year the SRRP is generously funded by the Office for the Vice Chancellor for Research, the Office of the Chancellor, the Office of the Provost, the Office of the Associate Chancellor for Diversity, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
